Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how FreeBacklinks.club (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use freebacklinks.club. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions? Email freebacklinks@proton.me.

Information we collect

• Account data. When you sign in, we use a one-time magic link sent to your email address, so we store your email address. We do not use or store passwords.
• Listing data. If you submit a website, we store the details you provide — site name, URL, tagline, description, and category.
• Usage & ranking data. When a listing is viewed, clicked through, referred, or upvoted, we record the event to rank sites and detect abuse. These events are linked to a pseudonymous hash derived from your IP address and browser using a one-way function. We do not store your raw IP address, and the hash cannot be reversed to identify you.

How we use your information

• Operate the directory, listing pages, and leaderboard.
• Authenticate you and keep you signed in.
• Rank sites from genuine engagement and prevent spam, bots, and vote manipulation.
• Display advertising (see below).

We do not sell your personal data.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you. You can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent to advertising cookies through Google’s certified consent message before such cookies are used. Service providers

We share data only with providers that help us run the service:

• Supabase — database and authentication (hosted in the EU).
• Vercel — application hosting and content delivery.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection on sign-in.
• Google AdSense — advertising.

Data retention

We keep your account and listing data for as long as your account or listing is active. You can ask us to delete them at any time. Ranking events are stored in aggregate to power the leaderboard.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email freebacklinks@proton.me. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Data security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to the database is protected by row-level security, and administrative credentials are kept server-side only.

International transfers

Some providers (such as Google and Vercel) may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under appropriate safeguards.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
